Shipping Information

From my Highland studio to your home.
I want shipping to be simple and stress-free, so here’s how it works:

Shipping Update (at a glance) Sept 2025

  • USA: Shipping now open again — all parcels sent DDP (duties prepaid, no surprise bills).

  • Northern Ireland: Shipping open again — treated the same as UK with no extra charges.

  • Europe: Shipping paused for now — I’ll reopen when a smoother system is in place.

General Information

  • All Ready to Ship items are in stock for immediate dispatch.

  • Pre-order or custom items will be clearly marked on the listing.

Dispatch Times

  • I pack orders every day in the studio.

  • Parcels are dropped off at the Post Office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

  • Orders placed Thursday afternoon through to Sunday will be packed on Monday and sent on Tuesday.

  • Club subscriptions and pre-orders ship on their advertised dates.

UK Shipping (England, Scotland & Wales)

  • All parcels are sent with Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48.

  • Both services include full tracking.

  • Delivery is usually within 1–3 working days for Tracked 24 and 2–4 working days for Tracked 48.

Northern Ireland Shipping

  • Parcels are sent exactly the same way as the rest of the UK, by Royal Mail Tracked 24 or 48 with full tracking.

  • There are no duties or extra charges.

  • Shipping is always to individual customers, so there are no customs complications.

USA Shipping

  • Shipping to the USA is open.

  • Every order is sent International Tracked, so you can follow it door-to-door.

  • Duties and taxes are collected at checkout, and parcels are sent DDP (Delivered Duties Paid) — meaning no surprise bills on delivery.

Europe

  • Shipping to EU countries is paused for now.

  • Unlike the USA, the EU is more complex:

    • Each country has its own VAT rules.

    • Without EU VAT registration, parcels arrive DDU (Delivered Duties Unpaid) and customers can be charged VAT and handling fees on arrival.

  • I’ve paused EU shipping to avoid unexpected costs. If a smoother system becomes available, I will reopen this and update you.

International Shipping (outside USA, Europe & NI)

  • North America (excluding USA), South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, and South East Asia: usually around 10 working days, though delays can happen.

  • Rest of the World: typically 2–4 weeks, but please allow longer.

  • International Economy: a lower-cost but slower option, up to 6–8 weeks for Canada and up to 12 weeks for other destinations.

Tracking

  • You will receive a tracking link once your parcel has been posted.

  • If your tracking hasn’t updated after a few days, please contact me and I will help.

Packaging

  • Orders are sent in recycled and recyclable postal bags.

  • Inside, I use cello bags to protect your yarn or fabric during its journey — these help keep your items safe and clean in transit.

  • You can reuse the cello bags in your stash, or recycle them at your local recycling centre.

Returns

I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you’re not satisfied, please contact me within 14 days to arrange a return, refund, or exchange.

  • Items must be unused (skeins must still be full, not caked or wound) and returned in their original packaging in resaleable condition.

  • Return postage is the responsibility of the customer and is non-refundable.
